Family Favorites – GAMES

Anyone who spends any amount of time with our family knows we love a good game. Finding the right game to play with kids can be tough, but here are some of our favorites that have stood the test of time. Some of these, like Gobblers, we started playing with our kids when they were preschool age. Others, like Codenames, we introduced recently as our kids are a bit older. Right now, our kids are 8, 10 and 11, and we play all of these games together. These are the games we love to play as a family – not the games we necessarily play with other adults – although Telestrations, Dutch Blitz and Codenames would also fit that bill.  If you’re looking for a last minute gift for your kids, you can’t go wrong with any of these! Our kids get at least one new game every Christmas, and it’s fun for the whole family.

  1. Gobbler  2. Ticket To Ride  3. Codenames  4. Spot It  5. Blokus  6. Sequence  7. Dutch Blitz  8. There’s A Moose In The House  9. Suspend  10. Telestrations

These three below are games we don’t leave home without. Buy some bulk dice and keep at least six in a plastic baggie in your purse for Farkle on the go. Another fun dice game we play is Liar’s Dice.  These ginat uno cards are a fun addition to anyone’s game cabinet. And of course, playing cards. Golf is a family favorite that’s easy enough for an early elementary kid to play, but fun for everyone.
