Open for business in California! | Upland photographer

Back in October, we made the huge decision to move our family to California.  Since then, I prepared to take our family across the country while wrapping up my last wonderful fall sessions in Sienna and Sugar Land.  Of course, you can see that I left the blog for dead and forged ahead with all the demands...

LA Girl, Cali Queen | A girls’ trip to Los Angeles

After my younger sister, Amy, moved to Los Angeles earlier this year,  my mom gifted my other sister, Anne, my daughter, Kate, and me a trip to LA with her.  We spent most of our time in Marina del Ray, Venice and Santa Monica.  Kate took her first dip in the Pacific Ocean and had her first...

Where I Work | home office tour

For the longest time, my work space was a tiny corner in the game room.  We finally came to our senses and converted the fourth bedroom into a home office for both of us.  I’m so thankful for this space where I will spend many hours this fall. p.s.  one word.  IKEA p.p.s. none of...

Navarre, Florida | how to photograph a beach vacation

My kids have spent a week in Navarre every year of their lives.  It’s become a fixture in their memories, especially Kate’s, and they adore  every part of beach life.   The visibility was so great this year that the kids spent hours swimming and snorkeling around searching for shells, crabs and jellies.  The beach can be...

My Kids | Hamilton Pool | Sugar Land photographer

I have a lofty goal of sharing more personal photos in this space starting now. On a recent trip to Austin, we took our little tribe on a trip to the picturesque  Hamilton Pool.  The water was a cool 60 degrees, but that didn’t stop us from taking a dip.  The kids built rock castles,...

Eli and Jack | brothers | sienna plantation child photographer

I’ve been completely remiss in sharing more of our adoption journey on this blog.  Here’s the cliff’s notes version: In March of 2011 we decided to adopt. From Uganda. It stretched our faith, brought us to our knees, and daily reminded us that love does. In March of 2012 we received our referral for a...

Laura, Eli is adorable! I can see why you fell in love with him. And, Jack looks so huge next to him! I’m so glad they’re developing a good relationship, and that Eli is having the priviledge to be raised in our great country by such fine Christian people. His little life will never be the same as it was before. God has blessed both him and all of you beyond measure! May He continue to do so! Happy Birthday, Eli!

I LOVE all of these! I see some good clipboard fillers to complete the bedroom.
