As we finish out 2017, I thought I’d share one of my favorite sessions from this year. I’ve said it before, but I really love capturing families in their homes, and so we photographed this family of six in their living room and backyard where the boys play and spend a lot of their day. I actually photographed a more classic session with their crew up in the mountains, and while I love those images as well, I find myself always preferring the more imperfect portraits of a family. As a mom, these are the moments I want to remember with my young kids – cuddled on the couch – running wild in the backyard – wrestling with their dad – head thrown back, open-mouth giggles – simultaneously driving me crazy and making me insanely happy.
