Almost a year ago, my friend Katie’s dad offered me some of their cabinet door frames that had recently been removed. I accepted, figuring I would put them to good use at some point. Finally, I found the perfect job for them. I ordered some Heather Bailey fabric, bought some cork board at hobby lobby, and made myself a little inspiration board. Only now my inspiration board is so pretty, I don’t want to cover it up – it’s inspiring in and of itself!

since i’ve figured out my workflow pretty well now, there were a few other updates to be made – some hanging file racks, appropriately labeled…

and this – which as my husband says – was not my brightest idea… i’m having a hard time convincing the kids it’s “for decoration only”    my little space really does make me so happy to work in, and i feel like it’s perfectly “me.”

I told their mom this – I could have photographed these two all night long. They are precious together and precious separate.  And oh, Avery’s curls!!!  I’m used to the white-blonde hair, but the curls kill me.  Avery just turned 5 and Evan 1,  and this shoot was to celebrate them both at their wonderful ages.  It never ceases to amaze me how quickly kids change and how different (yet equally endearing) each stage is.  As you can see, Avery loved “helping” Evan – I’m sure she will always be a very helpful big sister!

Carrie and Steven, thank you for letting me spend a little while with your two beautiful children!  And again, you did a GREAT job picking some gorgeous, colorful clothes for Avery and Evan – I love them!

Just six days old and the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen :)  Of course he made me and his mommy work very hard for these photos, but it was well worth it. Erin and I talk just about every day on the phone – I know we’ve both been anticipating Bennett’s arrival, and it was so wonderful to finally welcome him to the world.  Hopefully he’s not too traumatized after his modeling debut!
