SUMMER 2023 FAVES

Rounding up a few favorites from the past couple months of summer! Wild Mountain Thyme – Critics panned this film, but I adored it. It’s a simple story with plenty of Irish humor, beautiful landscapes and actors, and one of the tenderest father/son moments I’ve seen on screen. Defunkify – I have teen sons who...

Ranunculus | my favorite flower & macro photography

I feel like I’m cheating on my beloved daisies, but ranunculus and daisies are tied for my favorite flower. I took out my 100mm macro lens to photograph them in all their glory. Photographing flowers in macro might be my new favorite thing. I’m thinking I’ll have to print some of these and do a...

      Loving Lately | September 2014

      1. Ellie Holcomb on vinyl |  Ellie’s sound is unique – a lot folk-pop a little soulful.  What I love most is her scripture-rooted, straightforward lyrics.  The kids catch on to her tunes and always ask to “turn it up” when I play her album – maybe the greatest compliment of all.  That, and I’m never not in...

Ah…don’t you love a cheap lunch box that works??? You aren’t alone, friend. I was literally JUST bragging on ours to a friend last night. Love this series! And because I love YOU, I won’t make fun of your recent House discovery ;).

I’m dying. I only wish I could be a tenth as cool as the serranos ;)

      Details from Guatemala

I had been aching to travel again after my trip to Egypt last year, and quite suddenly, the opportunity to visit Guatemala with a group of amazing women came.  I feel very blessed to have been a part of the ministry there, and the women I met encouraged and inspired me.  Now I’m back to...

Hey Laura, love the guatemala pics! I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding down there last year in Antigua and it was amazing. Both the food and coffee! I can’t wait to go back!

      All around the WORLD

Once upon a time I was a news junkie.  I loved having access to the Asscociated Press and Reuters feeds, and I excelled at filing away all the random tidbits to pull for later conversation.  Now that I have less time to read the headlines all day, I cherish the time I get to read...

I like that pic of Andy. You should submit your articles and pictures to them now! I have an idea. You can write an article on the working journalist mother and what reality feels like when you travel sometimes having to bring the whole family and make your first trip to Lubbock!!!!

        Great pic of Andy!

The Light of My Life | Sienna Plantation Family Photographer

We’ve been slowly making our house more “us.”  I decided to be a little bold and play with color, and then “miraculously’” I found this chandelier that incorporated three of the colors I was using.  It’s the perfect combination of whimsy, elegance and playfulness – we don’t take ourselves too seriously around here!   And there’s...
